Building a Curriculum
Building a curriculum takes dedication, vision, and a sense of purpose. What part the learning tool is going to play for students, for instructors, for administrators and for the wider community needs to be define from the beginning. Once defined, keeping task to that vision as the work unfolds pays off in many ways in the end product.
Pay Off for the Student
The well designed curriculum is a roadmap for individual skill development. Whether working independently or in a class environment, a curriculum format with integrated reference directories throughout saves precious time and energy. Clear organization of content from beginning to end promotes a sense of control and confidence they can achieve their goals. Students who want to just get to work without design road blocks or unnecessary content, can better manage their time and focus on important skill development where needed increasing the likelihood of getting the score they want.
Pay-Off for Instructors
The pay off for instructors is confidence doing what they love to do, imparting knowledge to the next generation, with an educational tool they can trust. Having the freedom to add extra help and extended knowledge easily where needed and conduct class with their own creative flair makes their job much easier. They also enjoy a platform to manage time, tailor presentations according to multiple skill levels, and add enrichment study exercises while maintaining the focus on completing the full curriculum within the given time frame. They want to see their students succeed. A well designed curriculum is a win win for everyone.
