2018 through 2019 UCSD Extension and the University of California contracted with the instructors and authors at Paradigm Test Prep along with E. Kase, author and designer, to produce a study guide for high school outreach programs.
An 8.5" x 11", 250 page study guide with five sections titled, Writing | Grammar, Writing | Rhetoric, Math, Reading, and Essay was completed for instructors in December of 2019. During 2019 content of the guide was beta tested in preliminary UCSD Extension outreach programs in San Diego and Los Angeles qualifying high schools by the Paradigm Test Prep team. They experienced great success, proving the UCSD Extension goals for SAT instructor training of high school personnel and student exam prep in the under served high school population. The origami, shown assembled, was a paper fold project designed for the math section of the guide. It highlighted the evidence-based solution process anchored by the terms Signal and Response, the common thread throughout. Next stages of student book version, and web development scheduled for 2020 were discontinued due to COVID. |
Visual Quick Notes™ for the Life and Health exam was developed for insurance producers to pass the Arizona Life and Health exam. People liked it so much that it was used in other states that had similar laws at the state level (25% of the content). We had people calling that were so excited after getting 100% on their exams.
Not rocket science, just basic terms and their definition— simplification of content and visual bracketing of information collapsed study time and increased confidence on exam day. |
